The Falling Water, one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous homes, was built for the Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The house itself is sited an hour’s drive outside the city of Pittsburgh. The entire area is covered with trees and natural wildlife which enters the house though its large glass openings. The water running under the house also adds to this amazing organic residence. The entire house is built on top of a waterfall and uses cantilevers to create this amazing concrete structure, at the time a breakthrough in construction. The entire support system of the house is placed on top of the original rock formations that exist at the site. The same rock is used as the floor of part of the living room.
